Tracy Joy Roubekas
Migration Lawyer
EDUCATION
I completed a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts (Major in International Relations) at The University of New South Wales, before completing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law and being admitted into the Supreme Court of New South Wales as a Solicitor.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
I have worked with many large-scale and smaller businesses within both metropolitan and regional areas to secure employer-sponsored visas (such as the 482 and 186) visas for their skilled employees, across a range of industries.
Different areas such as general skilled migration, employer sponsorship, family/partner visas, and more complex matters such as health waivers.
Hobbies
I love spending time with my partner, friends and family, trying different restaurants and cafes (and going to the ones that I love), and reading new books.
I love new experiences that challenge me and help me to learn more about the world and about myself. I think it is important to never become comfortable where we are and to be open to things new experiences in life that might make us uncomfortable because they are often the most rewarding.

What Motivates you?
Working as an immigration lawyer, I meet new people every day who have completely different backgrounds and life experiences. This really opens up my perspective of the world and allows me to constantly step outside my bubble and put myself in the shoes of others, knowing that we all have completely unique lives that are all of equal value.
My parents migrated to Australia a few years before I was born, in order to build a life for us in Australia that would be full of the opportunities, safety and freedom that their home country could not offer. This move was extremely difficult for them and led to years of tireless work with little support. However, being raised by my parents in this beautiful country has equipped me as their daughter with a life full of endless possibilities - a life that every human deserves access to, no matter where they are born. My parents' experience and sacrifice help me to empathise with every client I meet, knowing that I can make a very real difference in their lives as their lawyer. The immigration process can be very daunting, especially in a climate where migration law is changing daily, so I am very passionate about simplifying the process for my clients and being a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for them during the whole process. Nothing is more rewarding than helping people secure a better life.
